PE and Sport Premium

The physical education and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.

We have been working with specialist coaches from Premier Sports to improve our provision of PE and give our teaching staff more specialist knowledge regarding all aspects of PE and sports activities.

We also use Premier Sports to deliver lunchtime clubs for pupils and to give lunchtime supervisors ideas of how to provide sports and games activities at lunchtime.

From September 2016 we developed our lunchtime sports provision even further with Premier Sports working in school three days a week to train a different group of eight Year 6 and Year 5 pupils every half term as Play Makers (sports and games leaders.) This has proved very successful and has had a very positive impact on lunchtime provision.

After half term in February 2017 we developed our provision further using this funding to provide a before school 'active' club for targeted groups of pupils every Tuesday morning between 8.00am and 8.30am.

We have also provided some after school clubs from specialist coaches at no cost to parents / carers and this is something that will continue with. One of our future aims is to widen this provision and give children access to different sports and physical activities.
